Job Title: IPv6 Expert

As an IPv6 specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive IPv6 network deployment plans that align with our strategic objectives.

You will design IPv6 addressing schemes, subnetting, and hierarchical IP plans to support current and future network growth. Additionally, you will plan and design IPv6 routing architectures using protocols such as OSPFv3, BGP for IPv6, and EIGRP for IPv6.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating detailed network design documentation and deployment guides for IPv6

• Assessing existing IPv4 infrastructure readiness for IPv6 migration

• Recommending transition strategies

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including network operations, security, and application teams for successful IPv6 deployment

• Leading IPv6 pilot deployments and overseeing full-scale rollouts across LAN, WAN, data center, and cloud networks

• Monitoring and troubleshooting IPv6 deployment issues and providing solutions to optimize performance

• Establishing IPv6 security policies and best practices to protect network infrastructure

• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on IPv6 standards, deployment methodologies, and vendor technologies

• Providing training and technical support to engineering and operations teams on IPv6

• Ensuring required skills and qualifications for the role are met

Required Skills and Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required, along with proven hands-on experience in IPv6 network design, planning, and deployment. A deep understanding of IPv6 protocols and features, expertise in IPv6 routing protocols: OSPFv3, BGP, and EIGRP for IPv6, familiarity with IPv6 transition mechanisms, and experience with network infrastructure hardware are also essential.
