Job Overview

As a Senior Data Protection Officer, you will play a key role in leading and executing data privacy engagements across various industries. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with global privacy regulations by conducting thorough assessments, implementing robust controls, and collaborating closely with IT, Legal, and Risk functions.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage data protection projects from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
  • Develop, review, and enhance data privacy policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Implement and monitor privacy controls, including data subject rights, consent management, and cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive awareness sessions and training programs on data privacy and protection best practices.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management and clients on data protection risks, compliance gaps, and remediation strategies.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 to 10 years of relevant experience in data privacy, information security, or compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of international data privacy laws and regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with data protection audits, assessments, and compliance programs.
  • Exposure to ISO 27701, ISO 27001, and other data protection/security frameworks.
  • Ability to lead client engagements, manage teams, and deliver projects within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Certifications
  • CIPT / CIPP-E / CISM / CISA or equivalent data protection/security certifications.
  • ISO 27701 Implementer / Lead Auditor certification is an advantage.
