Operations Manager Job Description

The Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day activities of our organization, ensuring seamless execution of our strategies. This individual will be responsible for planning and implementing processes to drive business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages manpower planning and shift rostering to meet load projections and productivity targets.
  • Ensures compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and overall upkeep of facilities.
  • Monitors vehicle connections, availability, and ensures timely unloading/loading of vehicles.
  • Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Plans ad-hoc vehicle requirements based on load profile and coordinates with fleet management.
  • Maintains service levels and ensures performance metrics are met.
  • Facilitates communication and coordination with various teams.
  • Drives KPIs in inbound operations, outbound operations, floor operations, quality metrics, and first mile metrics.
  • Manages human resources/employee-related key result areas (KRAs) such as diversity hiring, employee morale, and employee safety on the floor.
  • Mentors team members and works towards their capability building.
  • Identifies and implements process improvement opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing daily operations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices such as Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma.
