Job Title: Mortgage Credit Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mortgage Credit Specialist to join our team at DBS Bank. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective credit support to meet business targets, framing lending policy frameworks, and approving credit applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide credit support to meet business targets
- Frame lending policy frameworks and processes
- Approve credit applications
- Ensure quality of bank's exposure in India is acceptable at all times

Requirements:

- Six to ten years of experience in mortgages in Consumer Banking
- Professional qualification, graduate or postgraduate degree in business, accountancy, economics, finance, or related field
- Sound domain knowledge of the mortgages business and market

- Good analytical skills
- Good presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of the industry

Technical Competencies:

- Sound knowledge of policies and lending frameworks followed for this product
- Good knowledge of credit evaluation methods, tools, and techniques
- Sound understanding of regulatory guidelines on credit issued by RBI, MAS, and local laws and regulations
- Knowledge of various banking products and risks associated with them
- Adequate local knowledge of properties for cities in which they operate

Work Relationship:

- Good working relationship with Consumer Banking Relationship team, Consumer Operations, other product teams, RBI inspectors, regulators, and other external agencies

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Set up policy and processes for CLAP
- Approve mortgage applications for their respective branch, location, or region
- Portfolio monitoring and tracking, and escalation of adverse new events in the portfolio
- Ensure meticulous compliance with Bank's internal credit policy and regulatory guidelines
- Ensure compliance with the benchmark Turnaround Time
- Ensure proper guidance and support to the team of relationship managers
- Ensure processing of files within agreed timelines
