Responsibilities- Conducting regular inspections of incoming materials and reviewing testing certificates to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Performing third-party testing of materials as required by project ITPs (Instruction to Procure).
- Ensuring that all site activities adhere to construction methodologies, technical specifications, and drawings.
- Preparing QC laboratory documents, including work procedures, ITPs, QAPs (Quality Assurance Plans), checklists, and formats, as per project specifications and codes of practice.
- Maintaining accurate records of calibration status and conducting regular calibrations of laboratory testing equipment and batching plants.
- Daily checking concrete mix designs on batching plants and verifying all work activities using checklists.
- Coordinating with clients for field-testing, pre- and post-concrete inspections, and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Auditing processes to prepare for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications with TUV NORD.
We follow industry-standard testing protocols for various materials, including:
- Brick: Dimensional tolerances, compressive strength, water absorption, and efflorescence.
- Fine aggregate: Silt content, sieve analysis, moisture content, density, voids, and bulking.
- Coarse aggregate: Sieve analysis, crushing value, impact value, flakiness index, elongation index, specific gravity, absorption, bulking, soundness test, and density.
- Cement: Fineness test, consistency of cement, soundness test, initial setting time, final setting time, and compressive strength.
- Steel: Rolling margin, tensile test, elongation test, chemical composition (carbon, sulfur, phosphorus), and bend-rebend test.
- MS pipe: Rolling margin and tolerances.
- Concrete: Slump test and cube compressive strength.
- Soil: Dry density of soil by core cutter method.
- Stone dust, fly ash brick and block, Kota stone, marble stone, and other materials: Water tests.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Excellent knowledge of quality control principles and practices in construction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
The estimated salary for this position is ₹8,50,000 - ₹10,00,000 per annum, depending on experience.
