Senior Video Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled senior backend engineer specializing in video to join our team. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in front-end technologies and video streaming to create exceptional user experiences.

This is a unique opportunity for a technical leader who can design and implement scalable backend solutions for video processing features, including encoding, transcoding, and adaptive streaming. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing video storage, retrieval, and streaming performance through the use of CDNs, caching, and adaptive bitrate streaming.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with video technologies, including video codecs, compression techniques, FFmpeg, GStreamer, and multimedia frameworks. A proven track record of serving as a tech lead and managing complex initiatives within the team is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable backend solutions for video processing features.
  • Enhance video storage, retrieval, and streaming performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements, design solutions, and deliver impactful features.
  • Mentor junior engineers by providing code reviews, design feedback, and technical guidance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science from a top-tier institution.
  • Over 7 years of backend software development experience, with a strong emphasis on distributed systems and video processing.
  • Proficient in backend technologies such as Python, Java, or Go, with experience in building scalable, high-performance systems.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with video technologies, including video codecs, compression techniques, FFmpeg, GStreamer, and multimedia frameworks.
  • A proven track record of serving as a tech lead and managing complex initiatives within the team.
