Senior Network Security Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned and experienced Team Lead Support Engineer to lead our network security efforts. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Cisco's enterprise network technologies and Fortinet's FortiGate firewalls.

About the Role

The Senior Network Security Engineer will be responsible for providing L2/L3 support for Cisco switches and FortiGate firewall incidents, diagnosing and resolving complex network and security issues affecting client operations. They will also plan, execute, and manage the deployment of network devices and security solutions, including configuration, testing, and integration into existing networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues affecting client operations
  • Plan, execute, and manage the deployment of network devices and security solutions
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Optimize configurations for maximum efficiency and security
  • Take ownership of critical incidents and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
  • Work directly with clients to understand their technical issues and provide regular updates
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead training sessions on network management and security best practices

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience in networking and security, specifically with Cisco switches and FortiGate firewalls
  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher, Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) certification preferred

Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills using industry-standard and specialized tools
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, QoS)
  • Expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco enterprise network technologies (Routing, Switching, ISE, Wireless) and FortiGate firewalls
  • SD-WAN expertise: Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Fortinet's Secure SD-WAN solution, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of SD-WAN deployments
  • Automation and scripting skills using Python, Ansible, or other relevant languages
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
