Business Intelligence Architect Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise BI architecture, including data pipelines, data modeling, and reporting layers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement enterprise BI architecture, including data pipelines, data modeling, and reporting layers.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytics and reporting requirements.
  • Lead the development of data warehouses, data marts, and analytics models.
  • Architect and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using tools such as Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory, etc.
  • Design robust and scalable data models using dimensional and normalized techniques.
  • Implement and manage BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or others.
  • Define and enforce BI governance policies, including data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to BI developers and analysts.
  • Evaluate and recommend modern BI technologies and platforms to meet evolving business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in BI/DW development and architecture.
  • Strong experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Hands-on expertise in data modeling, SQL, DAX, MDX, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
  • Experience with data integration tools (ETL/ELT) and orchestration platforms.
  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and security frameworks.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Exposure to AI/ML integration with BI platforms.
  • BI/Analytics certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified : Power BI, Tableau Desktop Certified Professional).
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for data and continuous improvement.
