Job Title: Cost Manager

Job Description:

At Turner & Townsend, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Manager to join our team. As a Cost Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients, ensuring that their projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of feasibility studies and procurement reports
  • Estimate and cost plan projects, including producing and presenting the final cost plan
  • Tender and procure projects, including managing the prequalification stage, producing the tender list, and compiling the contractual documents
  • Deal with post-contract cost variances and change control processes, referring major changes to the line manager
  • Take personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client
  • Contribute to value engineering
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts
  • Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages
  • Lead a cost management team, ensuring they deliver on all accountabilities
  • Involved in the complete lifecycle of the project
  • Have thorough knowledge of electrical, HVAC, fire alarm systems, plumbing, and fire fighting
  • Support technical design briefs, analyze designs, and coordinate with multiple vendors
  • Experience in sustainability/LEED and other concepts
  • Review MEP specifications, interpret contracts, and participate in technical and commercial negotiations with vendors
  • Lead a team and supervise and coordinate onsite MEP construction activities
  • Review/analyze and re-design all MEP drawings and material schedules, with involvement in the supervision of site activities and control of cost and timely completion of the project
  • Coordinate all electro-mechanical activities with clients, consultants, suppliers, site engineers, and various subcontractors at site
  • Check and prepare VO, negotiate with sub-con and client
  • Provide interpretations of plans, project scope, detail sheets, and specifications for MEP contractors/subcontractors and engineers to ensure a comprehensive and mutual understanding of the project plan

Marketing and Business Development:

  • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report such opportunities to the appropriate line manager
  • Assist in the production of bid documentation
  • Identify ways in which cost management procedures, templates, and products can be improved and refer ideas to the appropriate line manager
  • Understand the Turner & Townsend 2+2=5 philosophy and identify cross-divisional opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Education - Diploma/Mechanical/Electrical - Having good knowledge of MEP
  • Relevant experience of working preferably for a construction consultancy in India/abroad, hold a graduate degree preferably in Cost Management and possesses good technical skills
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project conception stage, through all of the operational stages to completion and post-project review
  • 9+ years work experience with demonstrated career growth graph
  • Experience in multiple sub-sectors within the property projects will be an added advantage
