Job Summary:

A cybersecurity professional plays a critical role in safeguarding an organization's IT infrastructure by monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats. They serve as the first line of defense against cyberattacks, working diligently to identify, analyze, and mitigate security incidents.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in audit methodologies.
  • Guide colleagues and peers in their work.
  • Acquire industry certifications (e.g., ISO LA, CISA, CISSP, AWS CCP).
  • Sustainably manage projects from inception through completion.
  • Explain Schellman's service lines at a high level and their leaders.
  • Understand and demonstrate ability to speak to SOC 1 GITCs and each Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy SOC 2 criterion.
  • Understand Principal Service Commitments and System Requirements and how they impact the scope of a SOC 2 report.
  • Know all four report opinion outcomes and draft modified opinions accordingly.
  • Identify potential exception(s) that could yield a qualified opinion.
  • Exhibit self-organization, consistently and proactively plan for future projects, and prepare accordingly.
  • Stay abreast of sampling methodologies, technical audit language structures, exception wording, STMV quarterly reviews, and AS 2.0 Reference Guide concepts.
  • Review and apply concepts from EWP WP Guidance.
  • Pursue certification in CCSK and begin seeking a second certification (ISO 27001 LA, CISA, AWS CCP).
  • Understand and articulate the differences between SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports.
  • Participate in projects as a shadow or assessor for attestation offerings such as HIPAA, AUP, C5, etc.
  • Develop knowledge of SOC 1 GITCs and each SOC 2 criterion for the Security, Availability, and Confidentiality categories.
  • Be able to articulate qualified vs unqualified opinions; know all four types of opinions.
  • Learn about Schellman's services and service line leaders.
  • Comply with and complete matters included in the Associate Score Card.
  • Accurately manage and report time worked to each project/initiative.

Key Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of audit methodologies and relevant professional standards.
  • Requisite knowledge of applicable technology and security domains.
  • High level of attention to detail and quality of work product.
  • Client-focused service orientation.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site or remotely as a valuable contributor to a collaborative team.
  • Capable of simultaneously managing assigned tasks for multiple projects.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Schellman's service delivery applications.
  • Full understanding and application of ethics, independence, and company values.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management, technology, or other relevant subject area, or equivalent years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Minimum 2 years of related professional services experience in information security auditing, assessment, consulting, or compliance, focused on ITGC or SOC controls.
  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and with clients; travel approximately 40-50% (Monday-Thursday).
  • Maintain (preferred) or obtain least one certification relevant to Schellman's services (i.e., CPA, CCSK, or CISA).
