Subject Matter Expert (SME) Manager

This role oversees the management of Subject Experts and works closely with other subject administrators as per project requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Developing high-quality question banks for assessments
  • Designing and structuring question banks, setting quality standards for item writing and review in respective domains
  • Managing inventory and maintaining optimum levels of item availability in assigned non-STEM domains/subjects
  • Defining selection criteria, monitoring SME performance, training, and developing SME pools in different domains/subjects, and coordinating with SMEs for test development activities
  • Creating test designs in subjects of expertise and coordinating with SMEs to finalize test designs in other domains/subjects
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders to fulfill requirements for test items and question sets
  • Supporting Lead Subject Admin in delivering projects and other requirements as per organizational needs

Qualifications:​

  • Subject competency in school subjects up to 12th level as per NCERT syllabus
  • Broad understanding of education systems in India and NCERT/CBSE/Boards
  • Experience working in education sector related to assessment and evaluation - test designs/blueprints, question development
  • Good command over English both written and spoken
  • Good command over spoken Hindi

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency required in at least one of the following skills: Engineering, Mathematics & Physics, Chemistry & Biology

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indian education systems, experience in managing SMEs, and excellent communication skills.
