Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented financial professional to manage accounting operations for our US-based hotel and resort portfolio. The role involves handling daily income audits, multi-currency bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end processes, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with US accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Income Journal Loading: Perform daily income journal loading and reconcile revenues with supporting reports from property management systems (PMS).
  • Bank Reconciliations: Manage bank reconciliations across multiple hotel accounts, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Month-End Close Activities: Support month-end close activities including accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and intercompany allocations.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate general ledger entries, trial balance, and balance sheet schedules.
  • Accounts Payable (AP): Process and monitor AP – vendor invoices, utility bills, and expense reimbursements.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR): Handle AR – guest ledger, city ledger, and third-party billing reconciliations.
  • Multicurrency Transactions: Oversee multicurrency accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with foreign exchange policies.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and validate financial statements, P&L reports, and variance analysis for multiple properties.
  • Revenue Recognition: Ensure proper revenue recognition in line with US GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Credit Card Settlements: Reconcile credit card settlements and investigate chargebacks or disputes.
  • Cash Flow Monitoring: Monitor cash flow for assigned hotels and prepare daily cash reports.
  • Audit Support: Liaise with auditors (internal and external) and provide necessary schedules and documentation.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with US-based hotel management teams on financial queries and reporting.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of US Hotel Accounting experience is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of income audit, AP/AR, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.
  • Experience with multicurrency accounting and handling multiple hotel/resort portfolios.
  • Proficiency in Excel and hotel-specific accounting software (e.g., Epicor Prophet 21, M3, Yardi).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with US stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently with accountability.
