Job Summary:

  • The Senior Petrophysicist will lead petrophysical evaluations across exploration, appraisal, and development wells.
  • The role involves advanced log interpretation, core-log integration, and application of digital techniques to optimize reservoir understanding.

Main Responsibilities:

">
  • Petrophysical activities for exploration, appraisal, and development wells.
  • Logging programs (LWD/Wireline), including tool selection, vendor coordination, and real-time monitoring.
  • Formation evaluation—porosity, saturation, lithology, and hydrocarbon volumes—and integration results into subsurface models and documentation.
  • Rig site operations while logging and coring activities to provide decision support during drilling.
  • Coring programme and associated laboratory studies to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Data integrity across all acquisition phases.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as drilling, geology, reservoir engineering, geophysics, and related teams.
  • Petrophysical insights and data acquisition strategies.
  • Core study results (RCA/SCAL), advanced logs, and seismic interpretation, geological modeling, and resource estimation.
  • Advanced logs (e.g., NMR, Formation Tester, Imaging, Sonic Scanner etc.) and workflows for evaluating conventional, unconventional, and tight reservoirs.
  • Petrophysical uncertainties and their impact on volumetric resource estimates.
  • Cased hole and production logs to evaluate reservoir behaviour and diagnose well performance.
  • Machine learning and AI techniques to enhance petrophysical interpretation and improve reservoir characterization.
  • Emerging technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs in data acquisition and interpretation.
  • Petrophysical assessments to support investment decisions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master's degree or higher in Geophysics from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in Petrophysics domain within the oil & gas industry.
  • Willing and able to travel offshore for rig site operations and field quality control.
  • Proven track record in offshore exploration, appraisal, and development projects.
  • Experience with major or international oil companies highly desirable.
  • Exposure to Production Sharing Contract (PSC) environments and regional regulatory frameworks preferred.
