About the Role

This medical microbiologist position offers a challenging opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for conducting and supervising microbiological testing and analysis of clinical samples.

As a key member of our team, you will review and validate test results to ensure accuracy and completeness. You will also implement and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance protocols.

In addition, you will work with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and turnaround time. You will supervise, mentor, and train lab technicians and support staff in microbiological techniques.

You will participate in the evaluation and validation of new diagnostic tests and technologies. You will also support equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.

Furthermore, you will ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as NABL, CAP, ISO, and others. You will stay updated with advancements in microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and supervise microbiological testing and analysis of clinical samples
  • Review and validate test results to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Implement and ensure adherence to SOPs and quality assurance protocols
  • Work with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and turnaround time
  • Supervise, mentor, and train lab technicians and support staff in microbiological techniques
  • Participate in evaluation and validation of new diagnostic tests and technologies
  • Support equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure compliance with NABL, CAP, ISO, and other regulatory standards
  • Stay updated with advancements in microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and best practices

Requirements

  • MD in Microbiology from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a diagnostic or hospital laboratory
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and infection control
  • Hands-on experience with manual and automated microbiology instruments
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as NABL, CAP, ISO and proficiency in Lab Information Systems (LIS)
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and reporting skills
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership abilities for cross-functional collaboration
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays
