The role of a women's health specialist is vital in ensuring the well-being and reproductive health of females.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Begin the day by concluding ward rounds and operating theatre procedures.
  • Provide consultations to patients, deliver counselling sessions, and conduct sonography procedures as necessary.
  • Prescribe medication and requisition medical supplies in a timely manner.
  • Lead ward rounds with assistant doctors and nursing staff, ensuring patient files are complete and up-to-date.
  • Verify daily orders written by assistant doctors and monitor patient parameters and investigations.
  • Inform patients of their test results and advise necessary follow-up actions.
  • Conduct complex surgical procedures such as embryo transfer and hysteroscopy.
  • Ensure pre-operative preparation aligns with established protocols.
  • Assist or lead operating theatre wash-ups, documenting anaesthesia notes accurately.
  • Deliver post-operative instructions to assistant doctors and conduct immediate post-operative rounds.
  • Document post-operative findings, ensuring software entries are accurate and reliable.
  • Determine discharge readiness and prepare discharge papers in collaboration with senior colleagues.
  • Verify documentation and transfer files to relevant departments.
  • Respond to emergency situations, seeking guidance from senior specialists when complications arise.
  • Participate in outreach programmes and community events.
  • Supervise and direct clinical staff effectively.
