Critical Environment Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Environment Technician to join our team at Microsoft. As a Critical Environment Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the critical infrastructure that keeps our datacenters up and running.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned basic tasks with varying levels of supervision, including making rounds, recording building observations, and taking measurements.
- Monitor and inspect critical environment-related facility equipment, including controls, HVAC, and mechanical systems, for unsafe or abnormal conditions.
- Learn to operate all systems and equipment in a safe and professional manner and learn about all risks associated with these systems.
- Utilize internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track all equipment assets and to complete work order requests for maintenance work.
- Safely assist in providing emergency monitoring and response to various abnormal conditions with supervision following emergency operating procedures (EOPs).
- Perform various types of maintenance, including planned, predictive, and corrective maintenance, as assigned following methods of procedure (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Document tasks/issues found in maintenance and troubleshooting for follow up as needed and escalate as appropriate.
- Provide necessary escorts for third-party contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and service providers on site based on the appropriate severity-level procedures.
- Understand, follow, and ensure safety and security requirements, including job hazard assessments (JHAs), environmental health and safety (EH&S), and toolbox talks, and business processes and procedures to properly perform work in a safe, quality, and reliable manner in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and Microsoft requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 3+ years work/applied learning experience in mechanical, manufacturing, automotive, electrical, controls, data center, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and 4+ years technical services experience, or Associate's Degree or technical trade certification, or higher-equivalent education and 2+ years technical services experience, or equivalent experience.
