Data Center Critical Environment Services Director

About the Role
As a Data Center Critical Environment Technician Manager at Microsoft, you will play a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for our online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.
Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 data centers in 32 countries, serving over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. Responsibilities
- Manage a team of operations specialists, providing guidance and oversight in the inspection and maintenance of critical environment-related facility equipment, including controls, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), mechanical systems, and building and grounds.
- Oversee the performance of maintenance and operations, utilizing telemetry, control systems, and other platforms to identify trends and optimize efficiency.
- Utilize our internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track equipment assets, complete work orders, and generate reporting to identify outstanding and ongoing work orders.
- Respond to and lead incident response teams for abnormal conditions, coordinating with other critical facilities professionals to perform corrective repairs.
- Develop and maintain emergency operating procedures (EOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Assess and identify resources and equipment necessary to support environmental health and safety (EH&S) objectives.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, with 5+ years of mission-critical services work experience or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, with 7+ years of mission-critical services experience, or an associate's degree or technical trade certification, with 5+ years of experience.
- 1+ year of people management experience.
