Job Overview

The Water Treatment Plant Incharge - Chemist will oversee the operation, maintenance and quality assurance of the Demineralisation (DM) Water Treatment Plant in a Biomass Power Plant.

  • Operating and supervising the DM water treatment process, including RO, EDI, Softener, Degasser Tower and Mixed Bed units.
  • Ensuring consistent and reliable supply of DM water with required quality parameters for high-pressure boilers and turbines.
  • Conducting regular chemical analysis of raw water, DM water, condensate and feedwater to maintain steam purity and avoid boiler/turbine scaling and corrosion.
  • Monitoring equipment performance and coordinating with maintenance and instrumentation teams for timely repairs and calibration.
  • Maintaining daily logs, chemical usage records, test reports and regeneration schedules.

This position requires expertise in DM water production and boiler feedwater treatment, strong understanding of steam-water cycle chemistry in thermal/biomass power plants, and leadership and root cause analysis skills.
