Data Centre Admin Role

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre professional to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for server administration and deployment, backup and restore management, monitoring and maintenance, hardware lifecycle management, vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery, and documentation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Proficient in setting up and configuring physical and virtual servers across Windows and non-Windows environments.
  • Experienced in OS upgrades, patching, network configuration, and server performance optimisation.
  • Hands-on expertise with enterprise backup tools including Veeam, Backup Exec, and NetBackup.
  • Skilled in designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting backup strategies, agent configurations, and media management.
  • Perform daily server health checks, antivirus status reviews, and backup validation.
  • Conduct regular maintenance including restarts, firmware/driver updates, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Manage server hardware assessments, upgrades, replacements, and decommissioning.
  • Collaborate with vendors for hardware procurement, deployment, and escalation support.
  • Work closely with security teams to address VAPT findings and ensure timely remediation and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans; execute test restores and manage ISMS recovery cycles.
  • Ensure accurate and updated documentation of recovery processes and procedures.

Additional Requirements:

  • Familiar with cloud and hybrid data centre environments and associated deployment/management practices.
  • Strong understanding of virtualised environments and advanced Veeam functionalities for backup and recovery.
  • Knowledge of storage capacity planning, usage monitoring, and permission management at the folder level.
  • Capable of automating administrative tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting tools.
  • Effective communicator with experience in collaborating with project teams, stakeholders, and support functions.
  • Strong documentation skills to support change management and operational transparency.
