Job Title:

Lead Data Platform Engineer


Job Description:
  • As a seasoned data professional, you will play a key role in shaping the direction of our data platforms.
  • We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Platform Engineer to join our team and lead the design, implementation, and operation of our data pipelines.
  • You will be responsible for architecting and implementing data pipelines that handle batch and change-driven data, as well as designing and building reliable APIs for data access and updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  1. Proven leadership experience with at least 9 years of experience in data engineering, DevOps, and/or API authentication.
  2. Strong SQL skills, including tuning, indexing, and query planning, as well as solid RDBMS fundamentals.
  3. Proficiency in Python for data work and services, as well as shell scripting (preferably bash or PowerShell).
  4. Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) fundamentals, with experience in CI/CD pipelines.
  5. Cloud experience, preferably with Azure, but strong AWS experience is also acceptable.
  6. Data integration expertise, including ingestion, orchestration, schema/versioning, and resilient retries/replays.
  7. Workflow orchestration experience with tools like Prefect, Airflow, or Dagster.
  8. API design and development expertise, including REST patterns, pagination, validation, rate limiting, and OAuth2/OIDC/JWT.
  9. Observability and testing mindset, with a habit of writing tests for code and SQL, fixtures/test data, and CI/CD.
  10. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across time zones.
  11. A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and AI tooling, such as Claude Code.
