Job Title: English to Marathi Translator

Overview of the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally aware translator to handle the translation of advertisements for our leading newspaper publication.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Translate advertisement content from English to Marathi, including commercial ads, classifieds, promotional content, and display ads.
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness of translated advertisements.
  • Adapt advertising copy to suit Marathi audience sensibilities without losing the intent or promotional appeal of the original ad.
  • Proofread and review final copy before going to print to ensure error-free publication.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marathi Literature, Linguistics, Mass Communication, Advertising, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in translation, preferably with a focus on advertising or media.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Marathi.
  • Familiarity with advertising language, tone, and persuasive techniques.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in basic computer tools (MS Office, Google Docs); familiarity with ad layout tools is a plus.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
  • Marathi speaker with excellent command of English.
