Job Title: Data Specialist

  • Job Description:
  • We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to design, optimize and manage complex database systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PostgreSQL, Timeseries DB and performance tuning.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and manage PostgreSQL clusters for large-scale and time-series data workloads.
  • Work with partitioning and indexing strategies for efficient query performance.
  • Write and optimize complex queries using real-world metrics.
  • Manage database failover handling and recovery mechanisms during data transfers.
  • Conduct query tuning and performance analysis.
  • Implement database scaling without relying on enterprise versions.
  • Maintain and scale database indexing as data size grows beyond predefined thresholds.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including WAL, replication, clustering.
  • Proficiency in Docker and containerized database environments.
  • Experience with time-series databases, such as TimescaleDB or native Postgres.
  • Deep understanding of query performance tuning techniques.
  • Familiarity with WAL (Write Ahead Log), checkpointing, and buffer management.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native DB services and backup/restore strategies.
  • Ability to handle high availability and failover scenarios.
