Head of Fundraising Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven professional to lead our fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies, as well as building and maintaining strong relationships with donors and stakeholders.

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned fundraising professional to join our team and help drive our mission forward.
  • The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan, including identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities, managing existing donor relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve fundraising goals.
  • We are looking for a strategic thinker who can develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, as well as a talented communicator who can build and maintain strong relationships with donors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan that meets or exceeds annual fundraising goals.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new funding opportunities from individual donors, corporations, foundations, and other sources.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, including regular communication and stewardship activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including program staff, development staff, and leadership, to ensure alignment and effectiveness in fundraising efforts.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in fundraising, and apply this knowledge to inform and improve fundraising strategies.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in business, social sciences, or another related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in direct fundraising and partnership role with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and executive presence.
  • Cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and time-zones.
  • Ability to stretch limits to meet deadlines and time-bound goals for self and team members.
  • Outstanding leadership capabilities, ability to communicate a compelling vision and drive results while developing a strong team.
  • Adaptable with a penchant for innovation and a keen eye for emergent trends, regulatory environment, and fast-evolving policy context with willingness to learn on the fly.
