Job Opportunity:

We seek a seasoned economist to lead in-depth research and analytics for Indian markets, focusing on policy spectrum and macro indicators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Econometric Modeling: Develop and maintain econometric models to forecast future trends and risks.
  • Macroeconomic Analysis: Analyze macroeconomic data (history and forecasts) to identify economic trends and themes.
  • Global Economic Monitoring: Monitor global economic developments and assess their potential impact on markets.
  • Research Commentary: Write and publish research commentary accompanying data analysis and discussing market drivers.
  • Project Work: Conduct macro and market projects relevant to the Indian market. Perform secondary research as needed.
  • Ad Hoc Requests: Handle ad hoc requests.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree: Master's in Economics/MBA/CFA required.
  • Work Experience: 2-4 years of post-qualification experience as an Economic Analyst/Macro Strategist/Junior Economist with modeling work and research analysis experience.
  • Skills: Strong quantitative and mathematical skills with large data handling experience. Advanced Excel, VBA analytical skills, and knowledge of econometrics required. Python or R programming skills a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to write research reports and comment on market developments.
  • Databases: Knowledge of database tools – Macrobond, CEIC, World Bank, CME, and other financial databases; central bank (RBI) and statistical websites.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree: Master's in Economics or related field
  • Work Experience: Post-qualification work experience as an Economic Analyst/Macro Strategist/Junior Economist
  • Skills: Quantitative and mathematical skills, advanced Excel, VBA analytical skills, knowledge of econometrics, programming skills
  • Communication Skills: Written and verbal communication skills
  • Databases: Database tools and knowledge
