Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist

 

Overview:

As a key member of the finance team, the Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate collection of customer payments. This individual will be responsible for managing and resolving accounts receivable matters in a professional and efficient manner.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to collect outstanding debts from customers.
  • Monitor and analyze accounts to identify trends and patterns that may impact collections.
  • Communicate with customers through various channels to negotiate payment plans and resolve disputes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address billing and payment-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities, including customer interactions and payment arrangements.
  • Analyze delinquent accounts and prepare reports on collections status.
  • Implement credit policies and procedures to minimize late payments or non-payment risk.
  • Work closely with legal counsel or external agencies as needed.

 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable management, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly for accounts receivable and collections.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to assess data and trends for effective collection strategies.
  • Familiarity with collection software and tools for managing accounts receivable.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging situations professionally and ethically.

  • Expertise in accounts receivable management, including credit analysis and cash flow forecasting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including Excel and accounting packages.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
