Job Description

A dedicated Site Engineer will oversee site activities, maintain documentation, enforce quality standards and promote a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site documentation for compliance and project management.
  • Conduct preliminary site inspections to assess site conditions and gather information necessary for project planning and execution.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, specifications and other technical documents to ensure accurate implementation of design plans.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing site activities, progress updates, issues encountered and recommended solutions for review by project stakeholders.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment and project expenses to support budgeting and cost control efforts.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure construction activities meet specified standards and project requirements.
  • Evaluate project feasibility, considering technical, financial and logistical factors, and provide recommendations for approval or modification to project plans.
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to promote a safe working environment for site personnel and ensure health and safety standards.
  • Monitor project costs and variations, tracking expenses and implementing corrective measures as necessary to maintain cost control.
  • Facilitate communication among project team members, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders for smooth project execution.
  • Evaluate site operations and processes to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline workflows and optimize resource utilization.
  • Provide support to the project management team by coordinating site activities, resolving issues and addressing project-related concerns in a timely manner.
  • Undertake technical activities as required, including site surveys, measurements, material testing and construction supervision, to ensure project quality and progress.
  • Assist in managing site personnel, subcontractors and resources to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budget constraints.
  • Travel to project sites as required to oversee construction activities, attend meetings and liaise with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in interpreting drawings, preparing reports and developing cost estimates.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Project management certification is a plus.
