Effective Data Engineering is crucial for any organisation's success. This role requires a Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and implementation of large-scale data architectures.

We are looking for an experienced professional who can design and develop complex big data systems, ensuring scalability and performance.

  • Data Architecture: Proven experience designing and implementing distributed big data systems, including Apache Spark and HDFS.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and ensure effective collaboration with architects, product managers, and operations.
  • Languages: Expertise in Scala and Python programming languages.
  • Data Processing: Proficiency in Apache Spark (batch & streaming) and ability to work with similar technologies.
  • Schema Evolution: Experience with schema evolution using Apache Iceberg or similar table formats like Delta Lake / Apache Hudi.
  • Distributed Systems: Ability to run Spark and/or Flink jobs on Kubernetes.
  • Blob Storage: Experience with distributed blob storages like Ceph or AWS S3.
  • Pipeline Development: Skill in building ingestion, transformation, and enrichment pipelines for large-scale datasets.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Knowledge of Terraform and Helm for provisioning data infrastructure.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills.
