Capital Project Estimator

Eastman Chemical Company is seeking a highly skilled Capital Project Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating function, you will be responsible for managing and executing capital project estimating on assigned capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare capital estimates for industrial construction projects, including order of magnitude, engineering forecast estimates, appropriation estimates, change orders, and control estimates.
  2. Interface with project teams to understand project scope and estimate project costs.
  3. Develop and maintain Aspen Capital Cost Estimator database and Eastman EstWeb system.
  4. Monitor escalation forecasts and inflationary pressures on capital costs.
  5. Conduct risk analyses on project estimates and perform qualitative and quantitative estimate validations.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and input for accurate project estimates.
  7. Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in estimating methodologies.
  8. Identify and analyze cost-saving opportunities during the estimating process.

Requirements:

  1. Strong understanding of project estimation techniques, methodologies, and procedures.
  2. Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering with 8-12 years' experience in relevant EPC project estimation.
  3. Hands-on experience with Aspen Capital Cost Estimator.
  4. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Exceptional research and reporting skills.
  6. Excellent collaborative skills and ability to maintain positive work relationships.
