Automation Engineer Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills and a strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Automation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java.
  • Perform ETL testing to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to validate data at the source, staging, and target systems.
  • Perform UI testing to ensure functional correctness of web applications.
  • Validate that data displayed in UI matches the underlying database (end-to-end).
  • Identify, analyze, and report defects, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Work in Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to test frameworks and reusable components for automation.
  • Ensure test coverage, traceability, and adherence to QA standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4–6 years of experience in QA Automation Testing.
  • Strong experience in Selenium WebDriver with Java.
  • Hands-on experience in ETL/Data Warehouse testing.
  • Proficiency in SQL queries for data validation.
  • Experience in TestNG / JUnit frameworks.
  • Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Defect Lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Maven, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
