Senior SQL Database Administrator

Experience: 5-9 years of senior-level experience in database administration.

  • Database Administration: Proven expertise in installing, configuring, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting SQL Server 2005 – SQL Server 2022.
  • Patching and Upgrades: Proficient in installing Service Packs, Cumulative Updates, Hotfixes (GDR, QFE), patching hierarchy, and clarity on SQL Build numbers and Internal Database build numbers.
  • Migration and Configuration: Skilled in upgrading/migrating SQL Server from older versions to newer versions, configuring linked servers between same/different SQL Server versions.
  • Backup and Recovery: Experienced in configuring recovery models, designing backup strategies, fine-tuning backups using Backup Encryption, Compression, and special parameters.
  • Corruption Handling: Adept at handling Master, Model, MSDB, TEMPDB, and Resource database corruptions.
  • HADR and Clustering: Knowledgeable about configuring HADR like Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, Always-On AG, and Replication.
  • Key Skills: Strong knowledge of SQL Server Architecture, parameters, T-SQL, Triggers, and Procedures, as well as administration and configuration of HA/DR solutions, replication management, server capacity monitoring, analysis, and tuning activities, automation using scripts and tools.
