
Senior Ecommerce Leader

The primary objective of this role is to spearhead the e-commerce function, encompassing sales, marketing, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own full profit-and-loss statement for the region, setting ambitious targets for revenue, margin, and customer acquisition cost/lifetime value.
- Craft and execute a holistic growth strategy across direct-to-consumer, marketplaces, offline, and emerging channels.
- Forecast demand and manage end-to-end inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimising ageing stock.
- Define product-market fit; localise hero SKUs, develop new-product roadmaps, and sunset low-return-on-investment lines.
- Collaborate with research-and-development teams to adapt formulations for regional regulations and consumer preferences.
- Orchestrate 360-degree marketing efforts—performance, influencer, CRM, PR—allocating budgets for maximum return-on-ad-spend.
- Establish data pipelines and dashboards; track cohorts, repeat rates, marketplace rankings in real-time.
- Negotiate with third-party logistics providers, payment partners, and duty consultants to optimise landed costs and service-level agreements.
- Recruit, mentor, and performance-manage cross-functional teams (growth, operations, customer success, retail, trade).
- Champion customer obsession; mine voice-of-customer insights to inform product updates and customer-experience enhancements.
- Drive strategic partnerships—wellness chains, tourism boards, Ayurveda clinics—to expand reach.
- Ensure legal and tax compliance, including cosmetics claims, import duties, and GDPR-like mandates.
- Presentation quarterly business reviews to senior leadership, highlighting wins, risks, and future initiatives.
- Deploy test-and-learn culture; run A/B tests on funnels, creatives, bundles, and pricing levers.
- Set up disaster-recovery and continuity plans for supply, logistics, ads, and key seller accounts.
- Benchmark competition; deliver actionable intelligence on pricing, share-of-voice, and shelf velocity.
- Act as the brand's cultural ambassador, embodying its ethos while driving high-performance execution.
Qualifications:
- Strong educational background from top-tier institutions.
- 10 to 17 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the retail industry (FMCG, Retail, Ecommerce).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
- Strong analytical, data, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data for reporting.
- Effective task management and ability to work independently while contributing to team success.
- Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.
- Organised with superior time management skills Ability to multitask and prioritise under tight schedules while maintaining production of high-quality work.
- Self-accountability to follow-through with proper consistent updates to stakeholders Proficiency with project-based tools such as Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
