The Opportunity

We seek an experienced Senior Designer with SolidWorks expertise to develop interior components for the railway industry.

This role requires deep technical understanding, strong customer communication, and ability to deliver manufacturable, cost-optimized solutions while minimizing changes to tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop interior thermoformed panels for trains using SolidWorks.
  • Translate customer rough concepts into production-ready 3D and 2D designs.
  • Adapt panel designs to changing project requirements while ensuring minimal tool modifications.
  • Engineer rear side constructions of panels, including reinforcements, ventilation solutions, and mounting details.
  • Collaborate with clients on technical feasibility, cost efficiency, and manufacturability.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and client specifications.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in CAD design for thermoformed plastic components.
  • Expert-level SolidWorks skills in surface modeling, assemblies, and tool-related adjustments.
  • Background in railway or transportation interiors.
  • Knowledge of plastics material properties and production processes.
  • Ability to translate conceptual sketches into manufacturable designs.
  • Strong communication skills for client interaction and engineering discussions.
  • Independent, structured working style.
