Cybersecurity Operations Manager Job Description

The Cybersecurity Operations Manager plays a vital role in safeguarding an organisation's digital assets and infrastructure. This individual serves as the primary point of contact for all cybersecurity-related operations, bridging the gap between business partners, IT teams, and security stakeholders.

This role involves overseeing the implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of security measures to align with industry best practices and the organisation's overarching cybersecurity strategy. The Cybersecurity Operations Manager ensures the effective management and optimisation of technology portfolios, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of associated systems and services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining the technology portfolio of enterprise information protection services.
  • Ensuring regular maintenance and timely upgrades of security systems and services to prevent downtime and enhance performance.
  • Collaborating, leading, and mentoring the IT operations team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-performance delivery of security services.
  • Planning and executing cybersecurity projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity with hands-on capability in network and other security technologies.
  • Knowledge and skills in managing security policies and standards in Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Office 365, and SharePoint platforms.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Information Security Frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and Cyber Essentials) and Privacy regulations, including DPDPA and GDPR.
  • Experience working with third-party partners, including upstream service providers.
