Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Aeries Technology Group. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide data solutions.
  • Optimize and tune SQL queries to improve data retrieval and processing performance.
  • Work with Snowflake data warehouse to build, maintain, and optimize data models.
  • Create and maintain documentation of data engineering processes, data models, and ETL workflows.
  • Implement data security and compliance measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in data engineering.

Requirements:

  • Develop, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain SQL Server ETL processes, including SSIS and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with ELT/ETL tooling such as FiveTran/ SSIS/ Stitch/ DMS/ Informatica and Python.
  • Cloud Data Platform: Work with modern cloud technologies including DBT, Snowflake, SQL, Python, FiveTran, AWS (primarily Lambda and EC2).
  • Knowledge area: Integrating data from various systems (inbound/outbound) and transforming them for use.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts such as 3NF, Star Schema, and Type 1/Type 2.
  • Proven ability to optimize data platforms, pipelines, transformations, and consumption for cost, performance, and quality.
  • Experience implementing pipelines with GitOps, CICD, and Infrastructure as Code principles.
  • Familiar with reporting tools (we use PowerBI, but familiarity with Tableau, Looker, MicroStrategy, etc., is also fine).
  • Capable of architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining Data Products (Data Model, Data Integration, etc.).
