Job Title: Platform Engineering Leadership Role

A distinguished leader in platform engineering is required to spearhead the development and implementation of cutting-edge internal developer platforms. This visionary individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's technological direction, ensuring seamless integration across infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software engineering, with expertise in leading high-performing teams of engineers. Proficiency in Kubernetes, containerization, service mesh, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms is essential. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving platform engineering capabilities and optimizing platform reliability to enable faster developer velocity.

About the Role:
This senior leadership position requires a seasoned professional with exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to promote a consistent, automated, and secure developer experience. A deep understanding of distributed systems, observability, performance optimization, and incident command practices is crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and execute a strategic vision for the platform engineering organization, aligning with business goals and engineering best practices.
  • Develop and manage internal developer platforms (IDPs) and infrastructure components that accelerate development, reduce cognitive load on application teams, and improve reliability.
  • Drive adoption, ease of use, and measurable business value through platform-as-a-product thinking.
  • Oversee design, development, and support of CI/CD, container orchestration, observability, service mesh, and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with application teams, SRE, security, and DevOps to promote a consistent, automated, and secure developer experience.

Requirements:
  • 17+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role at Director level or above.
  • Proven experience leading platform engineering functions including build systems, infrastructure automation, service discovery, secrets management, and developer tooling.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes, containerization, service mesh, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
  • Demonstrated success leading advanced troubleshooting or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams during critical outages or complex technical escalations.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, observability, performance optimization, and incident command practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in regulated industries with a strong focus on compliance, observability, and resilience.
  • Familiarity with internal developer portals and platform-as-a-product adoption models.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or equivalent program management certification.
