Job Title: Senior Director of Engineering

This is an opportunity to drive technical execution excellence and lead large-scale technology programs.

Role Overview

The ideal candidate will lead the delivery of mission-critical payments and transaction banking platforms. This role requires deep technical leadership combined with domain expertise in Payments, Cash Management, and Digital Banking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Design, architecture, and end-to-end delivery of large tech programs in payments and transaction banking space.
    • Drive engineering rigor across Java-based platforms, Microservices, APIs, and integrations.
    • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of delivered platforms.
  • Program Management:
    • Oversee multi-stream programs ensuring timelines, quality standards, and stakeholder alignment.
    • Implement program governance, risk mitigation frameworks, and cadence reviews.
  • Team Management:
    • Manage cross-functional technology teams (developers, architects, QA, DevOps).
    • Drive team performance, innovation, and a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Engage C-level stakeholders on architecture reviews, technical direction, and delivery roadmaps.
    • Escalation point for key technology delivery issues.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Champion modern engineering principles, DevOps, Agile/Scrum, and code quality initiatives.
Core Areas of Expertise
  • Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, J2EE, Microservices architecture, and REST APIs.
  • Proven delivery of enterprise-scale payment systems, transaction platforms, and cash/channel banking applications.
  • Domain expertise in digital payments, RTGS/NEFT, UPI, ISO20022, SWIFT, reconciliation systems.
  • Understanding of platform engineering, systems integration, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
  • B.Tech in Computer Science or related field.
  • 18+ years of progressive experience in product engineering, platform delivery, or fintech transformation.
  • Strong technical background with exposure to Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, cloud platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in leading banking/payment system implementations.
  • Proficient in Agile, DevOps, SAFe, and global delivery methodologies.
  • Experience handling high-volume, low-latency systems.
