A career in Operational Due Diligence will offer a wide range of valuable experiences in an exciting and dynamic work environment. The role positions you to work as part of a larger operations team and includes the following activities:

  • Assisting clients in understanding the true operational capabilities of acquisitions or businesses planned for disposal, thereby maximizing value from their investment and lending transactions.
  • Working with clients to assess potential merger synergies and carve-outs, standalone performance improvements of buyouts, or operational turnarounds for underperforming companies.
  • Collaborating with colleagues from Financial Advisory, Consulting, and other teams to provide clients with a comprehensive overview of business operations, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Gaining a broader perspective on potential issues encountered when working in diverse teams and developing strategies to overcome them.
  • Developing a clear understanding of the firm's commitment to creating an inclusive culture.
  • Preparing high-quality deliverables within agreed timelines.
  • Supporting the Operational DD practice across Deloitte member firms.
  • Extensively supporting Deloitte London's market-leading Operational DD team, which provides operational diligence, integration, and separation expertise to corporate organizations, private equity houses, and banks.
  • Developing and analyzing cost models of varying complexities for international entities (private and public) operating across different industries.
  • Analyzing and interpreting financial and accounting data, including financial statement analysis and review of financial projections and underlying assumptions.
  • Liaising with engagement team members in UK, Canada, and Europe as required.
  • Working towards tight deadlines to add value to complex and high-profile projects.
  • Demonstrating strong business diagnostic skills and applying a logical and analytical approach to problem-solving.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • CA qualified (preferably first-time passes) or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Experience as a consultant or line manager involved in realizing performance improvement or operational turnaround, developing/delivering synergies, or other transaction work.
  • Developed skills in a top management consultancy or corporate environment – preferably both.
  • Strong report writing and reviewing skills, with attention to detail, conciseness, and risk management.
  • Strong Excel skills – quick and accurate data manipulation.
  • Excellent track record and strong academic achievements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including PowerPoint).
  • Proven analytical and business diagnostic skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and market awareness.
  • Interest in working in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work in a deal environment with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Transaction experience/exposure is an advantage.
