About the Role

This position requires an experienced professional with a strong background in software engineering. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing software applications using design principles and industry-standard tools
  • Developing high-quality, reliable, and maintainable software components using Agile methodologies
  • Implementing automated testing for new and existing software components
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote development standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers
  • Providing production support, troubleshooting, and implementing tools and processes for performance, scale, availability, accuracy, and monitoring
Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Proven experience with software development using Scala or Java programming languages
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka, Python, ETL frameworks, Map Reduce, SQL, RESTful services, and Unix/Linux platforms
  • Hands-on experience building data pipelines using Hadoop components
  • Proficiency in using version control tools like Git and GitHub, automated deployment tools like Ansible and Jenkins, and requirement management in JIRA
  • Understanding of big data modeling techniques using relational and non-relational databases
  • Ability to debug code issues and publish highlighted differences to the development team architects
  • Experience with time-series analytics databases and scheduling tools
  • Knowledge of Cloud design patterns and exposure to DevOps and Agile Project methodology
  • Ability to develop Hive QL UDFs for analyzing semi-structured and structured datasets
