Cost Analyst Role

The Cost Analyst position plays a crucial role in the organization's profitability by providing thorough and competitive cost analysis in the bid and proposal process.

This individual will manage the overall cost analysis process, analyzing customer requirements, developing competitive bid pricing, and contributing to winning proposals. When not working on bids/proposals, this analyst will provide financial reporting support to stakeholders as required.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft strategic pricing plans and processes to improve existing projects.
  • Develop reports reflecting metrics and project status, client-level profit/loss, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Communicate findings effectively to relevant departments of the organization.
  • Collaborate with sales and delivery teams to define pricing structures for company services offered.
  • Able to read and understand technical/requirement documents and legal documents such as customer contracts.
  • Identify opportunities based on market trends and industry conditions.
  • Develop ideal pricing structures and sales funnels.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 5 to 8 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Nurture networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
  • Exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Proven experience developing clear and accurate deliverables from subject matter expert and technical source materials.
  • Prior experience building pricing models.
  • Must be able to think critically and develop well-reasoned analysis; identify relevance and importance of information, understand logical connections between ideas, and solve problems systematically and creatively.
