Job Title: Assistant Manager Plantation

Manage farm operations, oversee land preparation, procure inputs, plan seed purchases and monitor crop health to maintain production plans, address challenges proactively and align activities with yield and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management:
    • Validate land by preparing a Land Specific Package of Practices for Energy Crop Farming
    • Develop and implement planting, cultivation and harvesting plans
    • Oversee efficient use of resources including land, labor, machinery and finances
    • Ensure high-quality crops through adherence to standards and best practices
    • Implement strategies to improve crop yields and productivity
    • Develop and maintain an efficient workforce, including recruitment, training and supervision
  • Sustainability and Compliance:
    • Implement sustainable agricultural practices, including environmental stewardship and social responsibility
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Communication and Leadership:
    • Train, motivate and lead employees, fostering a positive work environment
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including management, suppliers and customers
  • Specific Tasks:
    • Monitor and report on all plantation sites digitally
    • Oversee land clearing, preparation and maintenance
    • Supervise planting, fertilization, pest control, gap filling and other cultivation activities
    • Manage harvesting operations and ensure proper post-harvest handling and storage
    • Oversee equipment and machinery maintenance
    • Maintain accurate records of all plantation activities

Requirements:

  • Education: Relevant degree in agriculture or related field
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in agricultural operations and management
  • Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills, knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices and ability to work in a team environment
