We are seeking a proficient Java Developer who will be responsible for migrating our existing Ant-based build system to either Maven or Gradle, ensuring minimal disruption to the development workflow. Additionally, they will be instrumental in establishing a robust Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline within GitHub to streamline our development and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Build Tool Migration:
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of the current Ant build system to identify dependencies, tasks, and project structure.
  • Maintain the existing project structure for compiled and built files to avoid compatibility issues.
  • Optimize the build process for performance and efficiency.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Implementation:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions.
  • Integrate the CI/CD pipeline with the chosen build tool (Maven or Gradle).
  • Implement automated testing, code quality checks, and deployment stages.
  • Configure pipeline triggers and notifications for effective collaboration.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Java programming language.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ant build tool and experience in migrating to Maven or Gradle.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in version control systems (Git).
