We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Hedge Fund Analyst to join our accounting and operations team.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for calculating net asset values, reconciling profit and loss statements, and ensuring accurate reporting and operational efficiency for our hedge fund portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate Daily NAVs: Prepare and review daily net asset value calculations for hedge fund portfolios.
  • P&L Reconciliation: Perform profit and loss reconciliation between fund administrator reports, internal records, and prime broker statements.
  • Cash Reconciliation: Carry out cash reconciliation across custodians, banks, and internal systems.
  • Discrepancy Investigation: Investigate and resolve discrepancies in positions, pricing, fees, and expenses.
  • Month-End Closing: Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Performance Reporting: Assist in performance reporting and investor statements.
  • Trade Settlement: Coordinate with fund administrators, prime brokers, and custodians to ensure accurate trade settlement and reporting.
  • Portfolio Validation: Collaborate with portfolio managers and risk teams to validate portfolio data and performance metrics.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • A degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (Master's or professional certification like CFA/CPA is a plus).

Relevant Work Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in fund accounting or hedge fund operations, preferably with exposure to NAV calculation and reconciliation processes.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, derivatives, fixed income, FX, etc.).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of fund accounting software (e.g., Advent Geneva, Investran, or similar) is an advantage.
