Backend Developer Position

We are looking for a seasoned Backend Developer to oversee the backend architecture for our scalable web/mobile application. This role demands expertise in Node.js, Firebase, and MongoDB, focusing on building robust, high-performance backend solutions for user-centric products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Backend Architecture Management: Design, plan, and manage the entire backend infrastructure from development to deployment.
  • User Authentication and Authorization: Implement secure authentication using JWT and OTP-based login for session management.
  • User Experience Optimization: Develop algorithms for user discovery and preference-based filters for seamless user interaction.
  • Real-Time Messaging System: Build a real-time messaging system using Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications on iOS and Android.
  • Database Schema Management: Design and manage an optimized MongoDB schema for high-performance matchmaking and chat use cases.
  • API Security: Ensure secure API access using industry best practices like HTTPS and role-based access control.
  • Media Uploads: Handle media uploads securely via cloud storage services like Firebase or AWS S3.
  • Analytics Integration: Implement analytics hooks for key user actions and behavior tracking, including events and funnels.
  • Admin APIs: Build admin APIs for user moderation, reporting, and flagging systems.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and maintain API performance, database health, error logs, and uptime metrics.
  • Collaboration with DevOps: Work with DevOps to set up CI/CD, monitoring, and auto-scaling backend infrastructure using tools like Docker and PM2.
  • Environment Configuration: Manage environment configurations securely using secrets handling and implement fallback systems for graceful network failure handling and retries.
  • Coding Standards: Write clean, modular, and testable code with unit/integration tests for critical backend logic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in backend development with Node.js, Firebase, and MongoDB.
  • A strong understanding of token-based authentication and security practices.
  • Experience in building scalable, real-time chat or messaging systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage services like Firebase or AWS S3.
  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD, monitoring, and application scaling.
  • Clear communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
