Job Title

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineering Lead to architect and scale our core data foundation. This individual will be responsible for designing clean, scalable models, driving data platform strategy, and enabling a high-velocity product development culture.

  • Develop and maintain a robust semantic layer and modular dbt pipelines
  • Own schema design, documentation, and data contracts across the analytics and application layer
  • Define and enforce data platform best practices, versioning, and governance for all data models
  • Implement data testing, observability, and quality automation to ensure confidence at scale
  • Guide tool selection and platform evolution across the modern data stack
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and analytics teams to ship reliable data-backed features
  • Mentor a growing team of engineers and participate in architecture planning and reviews

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in backend or data engineering roles, with deep expertise in designing and maintaining normalized and dimensional data models. They should also have advanced skills in dbt (macros, packages, tests, modularization, docs) and expert-level knowledge of SQL, with a focus on PostgreSQL. Additionally, strong Python scripting skills for transformation logic and automation are required.

Preferred skills include:

  • Proven experience with tools in the modern data stack, including dbt (Cloud or Core), PostgreSQL (primary engine), Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect for orchestration, Great Expectations or dbt tests for data quality, Fivetran, Airbyte, or custom loaders for ingestion, Github Actions, Gitlab CI, or CircleCI for CI/CD, Terraform or IaC for platform provisioning (Snowflake, dbt Cloud, PostgreSQL configs)
