Job Opportunity:

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in spearheading power plant projects. With extensive experience and a comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles, you will be able to manage complex projects, mentor a team, and coordinate with various stakeholders across different locations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the mechanical engineering team.
2. Design Coordination: Coordinate project design assignments and work across multiple disciplines. Conduct functional reviews of detailed pipe routing to ensure conformance with design requirements.
3. Vendor & Equipment Management: Interface with equipment suppliers and vendors. Administer equipment contracts, including change evaluation and coordinating technical issues.
4. Project Management: Work closely with the U.S. team to communicate project status and ensure quality, schedule, and budget adherence. Participate in project audits.
5. Technical Expertise: Participate in model reviews to resolve clashes and conduct constructability reviews. Handle power projects independently and provide senior-level guidance.

Required Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 16 years of related experience, with significant exposure to piping design, pump selection, rotating equipment, and process design.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in system design, including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and hydraulic analysis.
- Experience in developing equipment specifications, technical bid evaluations, and reviewing vendor drawings.
- Proficiency in software such as AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Review, and Navisworks is preferred.
- Familiarity with power industry codes like ASME B31.1 and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Sections I and VIII.
- Communication & Problem-Solving: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Additional Experience: Previous consulting engineering experience and field construction/commissioning experience are an added advantage.
