Lead Mechanical Engineer Role

We are seeking a seasoned mechanical engineer to spearhead power plant projects, utilizing their in-depth understanding of mechanical engineering principles and leadership skills.

  • This pivotal role demands strong guidance and mentorship skills to foster collaboration and expertise within the mechanical engineering team.
  • The lead mechanical engineer will be responsible for coordinating project design assignments across multiple disciplines, ensuring conformance with design requirements through detailed pipe routing reviews.
  • This role requires effective interface management with equipment suppliers and vendors, managing equipment contracts, change evaluations, and technical issues.
  • The lead mechanical engineer will work closely with the U.S. team to communicate project status, ensure quality, schedule, and budget adherence, and participate in project audits.
  • A key responsibility is conducting model reviews to resolve clashes, perform constructability reviews, and provide senior-level guidance for power projects.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with significant exposure to piping design, pump selection, rotating equipment, and process design.
  • Expertise in system design, including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and hydraulic analysis.
  • Proficiency in software such as AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Review, and Navisworks.
  • Familiarity with power industry codes like ASME B31.1 and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Sections I and VIII.
