Key Responsibilities :

• Design and develop drivetrain architectures for 2-wheeler platforms, focusing on constant mesh, synchronous mesh gearbox, CVTs, chain sprockets, and belt drives.
• Meet durability, efficiency, and NVH attributes of drivetrain architectures through rigorous testing and analysis.
• Generate layouts using 1-D or 3-D meshed models in software tools like Romax Energy/Romax Spectrum/Romax Enduro, ensuring durability, efficiency, and NVH attributes.
• Perform macro and micro geometry optimization in tools like Kissoft/Romax.
• Collaborate with the CAE team to perform oil flow simulations and provide requirements.
• Calculate bearing, shaft, and spline requirements.
• Design gearbox housings that meet DFX, durability, and stiffness requirements.
• Perform GD&T stack-up for GearBox assembly as a unit.
• Translate Level-0 requirements into Level-1 and Level-2 requirements for drivetrain architectures.
• Develop accelerated testing methodologies/cycles for the durability of drivetrain assemblies.
• Define reliability targets/attributes for drivetrain architectures.
• Establish service intervals and end-of-line test setup for drivetrain architectures.

Ideal Candidate :

• 8+ years of experience in drivetrain architectures and product life cycle.
• Experience in conducting design releases with defined documentation in PLM tools.
• Proven track record of deploying at least 2 architectures in the field.
• Ability to nurture young talent and deliver the best out of the team.
• Experience in Gear Hobb and Dresser requirements.
• Knowledge of Heat Treatment process to achieve required case and depth hardness of gears and shafts.
• Experience with pressure die castings and forgings manufacturing process.
• Experience with machining procedures for achieving tighter tolerance bands for gearbox housings.
