Our company is seeking a seasoned Network Security Engineering Director to lead our distributed systems team in developing innovative security solutions for our public cloud infrastructure. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will play a critical role in guiding the technical direction of our network security initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of distributed systems to deliver security controls at the network level in our public cloud environment, including network policy management, ACLs enforcement, DDoS and network protections.
  • Research and implement new networking security solutions and platforms for intra- and cross-cloud network flows, ensuring seamless integration with our existing infrastructure.
  • Advance and operate our security scanning platforms in a full DevOps model, fostering collaboration between engineering teams and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Participate in daily scrums as part of our Agile development environment, driving progress towards shared goals and objectives.
  • Support the engineering excellence initiative by performing code reviews and helping establish best software development practices throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with other teams to solve complex security problems with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Contribute to the development of short- and long-term security, product and service strategies through partnerships with other engineering teams and executives.
Requirements
  • 17+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in SaaS, PaaS or IaaS software development, 5+ years in high-availability 24/7 environments, and 5+ years in public cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • 5+ years of experience in developing Network Security Technologies like Micro-Segmentation, Zero-Trust, Network ACLs, L4/L7 Firewall, WAF, mTLS solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience with Service Mesh, Istio, Envoy development and deployment.
  • Management experience: 10+ years of direct people management experience.
  • Industry-level expertise in L4/Layer 7 Firewall & WAF Development, Network security platforms, including segmentation, ACLs, DPI, DDoS protection, and network control planes and agents.
  • Strong knowledge in security fundamentals: secure transport, identity management, OSI model, debugging network traffic, and programming languages such as Golang, Java, C++, Python.
  • DevOps mindset, strong ownership over owned code, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Bonus Skills
  • Prior understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with SDN, NFV, network automation.
  • Terraform, Helm chart experience.
