Data Infrastructure Specialist

The role of a system administrator in our organization is to ensure the seamless installation and ongoing maintenance of our data products. Our ideal candidate will have over a decade of experience in system administration, network configuration, and software installation.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Verify servers meet the necessary system requirements for each product (OS, CPU, RAM, disk space).
- Ensure servers have access to required repositories and allow inbound/outbound network traffic as needed.
Installation Steps:
- Install R: Install the preferred version of R that will be supported.
- Install Python: Install the preferred version of Python that will be supported.
- Install Quarto: Install the preferred version of Quarto that will be supported.
- Install Workbench: Download and install the Posit Workbench package for the respective OS.
- Configure Workbench: Configure Workbench through its configuration files, setting up users, session management, resource limits, etc.
- Start the Service: Start the Workbench service and ensure it runs on startup.
- Testing: Access Workbench through a web browser to verify the successful installation.
