Senior Direct Tax Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Direct Tax professional to join our team. This role involves providing expert advice on direct tax matters, including structuring and advisory services.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indian tax laws, including FEMA and domestic tax law.
- Structuring and advisory services on deals from a tax perspective, including foreign exchange control and other allied laws.
- Drafting and reviewing deal documents, including term sheets, loan agreements, and disclosures.
- Handholding in conceptualizing deals with a focus on India entry/exit strategy, favorable holding jurisdiction, and tax efficiency.
- Advisory services on possible structuring through the IFSC Gift City.
- Front-ending/liaising with various stakeholders, including AD Banker.
- Undertaking health checks and preparing due diligence reports.
Additionally, this role involves providing international tax and FEMA advisory services, including:
- Advisory assignments on international tax issues, such as PE, profit attribution, business connection, and expat tax.
- Effective tax rate (ETR) planning analysis for an Indian promoter-held group with 190+ entities.
- Advisory services on FEMA and assistance in compounding applications.
- Assistance in lower withholding applications, condonation applications, assessments, and appeals at all levels.
